On Saturdays this month (March 12 and March 26), free ACT prep sessions will be available for Shelby County students. The Shelby County Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services and the Shelby County Youth & Family Resource Center have partnered to offer this free resource. In a press release, Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris said, “ACT test prep classes can cost hundreds of dollars, money many parents in our county don’t have. We want to do everything we can to encourage our students’ academic success and support their families.” Sessions will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Youth & Family Resource Center (3157 Powers Road, 38128). Math will be the focus of the March 12 session, and science and reading will be covered on March 26. Pre-registration at 901ACTPREP.com is recommended, but walk-ins are welcome.
